Elite Race:
SPRINT: Paddler’s will be challenged by the 1.5 mile stretch of the World Famous North Fork of the Payette River in Beautiful Cascade, Idaho. Competitors must stand strong while passing the crowd of thousands gathered to watch them at the world famous Kelly’s Whitewater Park. Mix in a handful of boulders, drops and wave trains as paddlers battle it out to prove who is the fastest whitewater paddler on earth.
CROSS:A Stand Up Paddle battle royal on the North Fork. Think Snowboarder Cross or Skier Cross on SUP boards in class 2 Kelly’s Whitewater course. A favorite of both competitor and spectator, there is sure to be plenty of carnage in this event as competitors must navigate around buoys strategically placed to ensure a lot of bumping. Protective gear is a must for this format. Are you ready to rumble?
EQUIPMENT RULES:
- Boards are limited to 12′ 6″ in length
- Paddles must be single bladed
PURSE MONEY: Athletes advancing to the FINALS on Sunday June 22 will be competing for the largest purse in SUP history.

HOW TO DETERMINE THE OVERALL WINNER OF THE SUP EVENT
Competitors will accumulate points from BOTH the SPRINT and the CROSS and the OVERALL WINNER is the one with the most points at the end of the Competition. It is NOT important to be #1 or #2 or #3 in either the Sprint or the Cross to win. Based upon our fair scoring system the overall winner could be someone who came in 5th in the sprint and the 6th in the cross and their combined score of 31 might be more than sufficient to be crowned the overall champion.
HOW ARE POINTS AWARDED? Points are awarded starting with 1st place in sprint earning 20 points and 1st place in cross earning 20 points. 2nd place in sprint will earn 19 points and 2nd place in cross will earn 19 points. This countdown will continue until the 20th place in sprint or the 20th place in cross earns 1 point. Maximum points to be earned is 40.
